What is aviation obstruction light?

Usage of aviation obstruction light

Aviation obstruction lights are widely used in tall buildings, like high structures, chimneys, iron towers, bridges, cranes, telecommunication towers, wind farms, etc. They are installed on top of the structures by flashing or non-flashing (Steady burning type), flash has 2 types: red flash and white flash, non-flashing has only 1 type, red steady burning type. 2. When using high intensity type A aviation obstruction lights, the obstruction lights must be evenly arranged between the ground and the specified top obstruction lights at an interval of no more than 105 meters, but when the object is surrounded by multiple buildings, nearby buildings can be used The top elevation of the object replaces the ground to determine the number of layers of obstruction lights!

3. For ultra-high voltage transmission line towers, high intensity type B obstruction lights should be installed, and the three-layer synchronous flashing should be installed. The location is on the top of the tower, the lowest point of the cable sag, and the middle of the two, and it needs to be located on the outside of the tower along the cable routing direction!

 Installation

3.1 Schematic Diagram


Airports, airlines, iron towers and various high-rise buildings need to install aviation obstruction lights to ensure safety. In addition to choosing a regular manufacturer and reliable quality products, the installation method and location selection are also very important, which affects whether the lamp can function normally in the future. How to determine the installation location of the solar aviation obstruction light?


1.Before installation

1. Before installation and use, turn on the switch to the on position. When installing, make the rectangular solar panel face the sun, and place the solar aviation obstruction light in a place that can fully receive the sun.

2. If the solar aviation obstruction light is not bright or the light is weak, the solar aviation obstruction light can be irradiated in the sun for 4 hours, and then it will shine.

 3. If stored for a long time, the solar aviation obstruction light should be placed in a dry and low humidity place. Hert_1213 will take out the solar aviation obstruction light every three months and place it under the sun for three days.


2. Installation location

Solar aviation obstruction light The light is divided into two types: platform installation and side installation. It can be installed on the platform or on the arrester.

1. Platform installation method: 4 holes on the bottom plate, fixed with M10X40 bolts.

2. Side installation method: directly install the lamp on a cylindrical object such as a lightning arrester, and fix it up and down by two round steel clamps.


4. Maintenance

4.1 Keep the lamp in a dry and clean working lot, keep it from water, fire, and other hazardous environment;

4.2 When error occurs, report to engineers at the earliest.


5. Standard

All kinds of aviation obstruction lights should be ICAO(International Civil Aviation Organization) or FAA(Federal Aviation Administration) compliant. ICAO FAA both have a standard regarding all kinds of aviation obstruction lights, all lights should be designed and installed according to ICAO or FAA standard.
